José Raúl Capablanca vs Alexander Alekhine · 1927 · move 24.
White’s g-pawn has disappeared. Which rook move uses the open g-file?
In game seven of the 1927 championship, Black’s queen takes kingside pawns while White keeps developing threats. Capablanca’s rook changes from the g-file to the h-file, then the queen joins the attack. After the queens are exchanged, the rooks still have useful work in the ending.
